The PTA has been working hard all summer to prepare for an exciting school year. Last year was a huge success, and I am happy to continue in the role of PTA President for the 2013-14 school year. We plan to build on last year’s accomplishments and are pleased to welcome Esther Dayon as the VP of Social Activities and Mari Gindi as the VP of Special Events. Margalit Gottlieb will now hold the position of treasurer.
As you may know, the PTA is responsible for many activities throughout the year including, but not limited to:
1) Hot lunch
2) Welcoming new families
3) After-school activities
4) Teacher appreciation
5) Hanukkah Party
In addition to the PTA officers, other parents have spent time over the summer volunteering for the PTA. I would like to take this opportunity to publicly acknowledge their efforts thus far:
- Anna Setton for helping to organize hot lunches.
- Rhea Zucker for coordinating the welcome bags for new families.
We are still looking for additional parents to join the Hanukkah Party planning committee. We also need someone to organize after-school programs, which includes choosing classes, hiring teachers, and managing registration.. Please email PTA@mynetivot.com if you can volunteer.
The PTA will make this the best year yet for our children, but only if we work together. I am looking forward to partnering with parents, staff, and teachers to produce healthy, fun, and educational programs that leave lasting memories.
All my best,
P.S. Mark your calendars: The PTA is hosting “PTA and Pastries” in the back of 91 Jefferson on Monday, Sept. 2 at 9AM. Come see old friends and meet new ones!
